"I love South Nassau Communities for several reasons.... When I returned to NY 6 years ago and started looking for a job, I went back to my old hospital, where I had previously worked for 10 years but there was something missing. One of the doctors I worked with recommeded South Nassau Communities Hospital. I came in as a NM of a step down cardiac unit. I loved the challenges my new job brought as a NM and got very involved with both patients and staff. Made friends along the way. I had found my new home and I began to grow.
Our SVP and CEO are always supportive of us and know us all by our names. Where else can you find Management like this, where you are made to feel like you are part of a family. I feel like I belong to the SNCH family.
I became very involved with our very first International Nurses and continue to be supportive to the new nurses at work and socially. Introduced them to the American Culture at the same time sharing the Indian culture with my coworkers and the community. I wanted to pay it forward by helping in every little way I can for what SNCH had given me, security, love and support in every way. The most common comment I hear from staff I interview is that SNCH is a warm and friendly place. People always eager to help, everybody always greeting each other. This is one place where everybody is given an opportunity, in fact encouraged to grow. I am so proud to be a South Nassau Nurse."
